Essity launched the first wheat straw pulp toilet paper – Zewa brand toilet paper in the German market.

A spokesman for the company said that the move made Essity “the first brand manufacturer in Europe to provide high-quality wheat straw pulp toilet paper”.

This product uses the local straw of Essity Mannheim plant in Germany as raw material, which grows rapidly and can be processed into cellulose.

The raw materials of Zewa product series contain at least 10% wheat straw pulp, which makes the company “the first company in Europe to use local agricultural residues in industrial production, ultimately reducing the carbon footprint of its products”, according to Essty.
