In June this year, the FSC regional forest management standard, which is mainly aimed at small woodlands in Indonesia, was approved. This standard is applicable to operators of small plantations or woodlands in Indonesia (referring to the operating area of less than 20 hectares), and is applicable to logs and non timber forest products.
It is reported that the standard is written in simple language and provides evaluation indicators according to the actual situation of small plantations or woodlands in Indonesia.
The standard is an adapted version of the Asia Pacific forest management standard approved for small plantations in Indonesia, India, Thailand and Vietnam. A national adaptation plan for Indonesia has been developed and released to pilot test indicators developed for the specific situation of Indonesia.
