Japan Paper plans to build an EV battery material factory in Hungary

On February 6, it was reported that Japan Paper Company planned to invest billions of days to build a new factory in Hungary to produce carboxymethyl cellulose for lithium-ion batteries of electric vehicles. It is reported that the factory will start operation in December 2024, with an estimated annual sales of about 50 million euros.

According to the previous report of Nikkei. cn, Japanese paper making is striving to promote the practicality of “wooden battery”, which uses the concave-convex adsorption of electrons on the surface of the fiber extracted from the pulp of paper making raw materials to charge and discharge. By 2030, Japan’s paper-making “wooden battery” will be applied to smart phones and other applications, and will also be applied to pure electric vehicles.
