The new factory of SCA Ortviken with an annual production of 300000 tons of CTMP pulp was completed on May 16th. Governor Berit H ö gman of V ä sternorland delivered a ceremony speech, and timber movement celebrity Ferry Svan also cut the ribbon for the factory.
Ulf Larsson, President and CEO of SCA, stated that the project has been delivered on budget and completed ahead of schedule, and now SCA has stronger competitiveness in the global market.

At the ceremony with a large attendance, Governor Berit H ö gman delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of the county’s strong forestry industry and the climate benefits of renewable pulp replacing fossil materials.
In 2020, SCA announced to invest 1.5 billion Swedish krona in Ortviken’s industrial base, aiming to increase the output of chemical thermomechanical pulp (CTMP) from about 90000 tons per year to 300000 tons per year.
